About Us

Jelli's Market is a pick your own strawberry farm located near Helenville, Wisconsin.  Jelli's is owned by Steve and Jody Knoebel, along with their 3 daughters - Jessica, Lindsay, and Elizabeth. Jessica is a junior at UW-Eau Claire, studying business.  Lindsay is a freshman at UW-River Falls and is studying agriculture.  Libby is in 6th grade and spends most of her spare time playing basketball.

The name of our market - Jelli's - is a result of combining the names of our three girls.   We think that is a pretty unique name!

We planted our first strawberry plants in the spring of 2001.  We LOVE strawberries and have always had a small patch of our own.  When considering how many plants to put in that year, we thought we might put in a few extra plants so we could have some extra berries to sell to neighbors.  A few plants turned into 25,000 and we were in the strawberry business!

In 2010, we will have 8 acres of strawberries.   Over the past few years we have added other produce items that have become popular with our customers.  We plant peas – both edible pod and shell peas, that are ready to be picked at the same time strawberries are ready.  We also have asparagus, rhubarb, and about an acre of raspberries, and they are all wonderful additions to our farm.  We also plant green beans, sweet corn, tomatoes, zucchini, and various other produce items during the summer.  Our entire produce season runs from about mid May when asparagus is ready to late October with our fall harvest which includes pumpkins, gourds, squash, corn stalks and indian corn.

All of our produce is pick your own, but we do pre-pick limited quantities every day too.   We always take orders and try to answer our “hotline” whenever possible.

In addition to our strawberry and produce business, we grow about 1,000 acres of soybeans, corn, and hay.  We have a herd of 50 Angus cows and also raise Holstein heifers.

We are located about 5 miles off of I-94, about halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, near Johnson Creek.  For exact directions to our farm, see the directions and hours page.
